Camel Rock is the only casino in New Mexico that has a structure
built for that purpose from the ground up. The casino is a 65,000-square-foot
building done with a soothing Southwestern atmosphere. There is
a lovely restaurant and buffet with reasonable prices. The casino
has 17 table games with limits up to $500. There are more than
400 slots and a very comfortable poker room. The Tesuque campground
across the street provides RV travelers with overnight facilities.
Proximity to Santa Fe makes this an ideal spot for gainers.
An outstanding feature at Camel rock is the fresh air pumped into
the casino every half hour. This eliminates the smell of smoke
and gives nonsmokers a well-deserved break.
Santa Fe is the focal point of this casino, which is located 9
miles north of Santa Fe on the Tesuque Pueblo. Santa Fe is one
of the country's most culturally rich cities and it is also the
country's oldest capitol.
The main attraction is the Plaza in downtown Santa Fe. There are
hundreds of shops and galleries selling arts and crafts from every
culture. All summer long there are art fairs held on and around
the Plaza and in mid-August the world-famous Indian Market, with
art from all corners of the globe, sets up for two days. It is
an awesome display of talent. For information, call 505-983-2250.
Another international attraction is the fabulous Santa Fe Opera,
which takes place in an outdoor setting with mountains in the
background and is an experience to cherish for a lifetime. Original
and classic operas are performed here and the talent is superb.
